Food Choices and pH Balance
There are countless books and programs out there that help in this quest: The pH Balance Diet, The Acid-Alkaline Food Guide,
Alkalize or Die, The Acid Alkaline Balance Diet, The pH Miracle to name a few.
If you want to get started right away, I like a downloadable program called Eating for Energy. Not only does this e-book teach you how to eat and transform how you look, feel, and perform
through an alkalizing diet with living plant-based whole foods, it also includes a 12 week plan, over 100 recipes, and a special fitness
nutrition component.
As you can see from the list below, just because a food is acid-forming doesn't necessarily make it unhealthy. In fact, many of
the acid foods are necessary for proper health. It's just a matter of balance. The bottom line is that we need to eat enough alkalizing foods to
help our bodies neutralize the acid-forming foods. Since acid forming foods are a little stronger, the rule of thumb is about 20% Acid to
80% Alkaline.

Most unprocessed, cold-pressed oils are neutral or alkaline-forming (Even margarine seems to be neutral, but it is not recommended that
anyone eat this "liquid plastic.")
